1:1 Coaching

Up-level your biz!

My 1:1 Educational Videos are an excellent entrée into food photography. But everybody is individual, and you might still have questions that can’t be answered from an instructional video. If this sounds like you, working with me one-on-one can help you achieve the results you want.

After a brief portfolio assessment, we will identify areas of improvement, and I will develop a lesson plan that addresses those items. You don’t have to be a skilled photographer to work with me this way, and I welcome working with people at all levels of expertise.

For those just starting out, 1:1 coaching is a way to jump-start your efforts. We’ll talk about basic photographic concepts and focus on the areas you want to improve. For intermediate photographers, coaching is a way to gain insider tips that are specific to your interests.

Professional photographers benefit from coaching, too. I can share technical concepts and assess your work with a critical eye. If you hope to add food photography to your portfolio, I can help you cut through the chaff and show you how to appeal to the clients you most want to work with.

After 16 years of working as a commercial and wedding photographer, I have lots of experience dealing with clients, pricing projects, and understanding my value. In building a successful photography career, I found that few resources teach you these skills. Most of us tend to “make it up” as we go along, but with a little expert guidance, you can skip the line.

Knowing the benchmarks, market value, and what makes your work unique are all components of successful pricing. I will teach you how to place a dollar value on your work and your time. We will also work on creating a visual identity for your work that sets you apart from the pack.

Are You Ready to Level Up Your Food Photo Game?

Preparation is the professional’s secret to success. The better you plan, the more predictable your results will be. In this guide, we’ll explore everything you need to know about what goes into preparing eye-catching images. Hint: most of the work is done before you even shoot a frame!

Pre-production is the foundation of every movie, TV show, magazine cover, or play you’ve ever watched. It is the key to success for any professional endeavor, including photography shoots.

If pre-production works for multi-million-dollar productions, it will do wonders for a $50 budget photoshoot. I can show you how.

I loved my 1:1 with The Qui Ingredient. Quiana was patient and thorough. She was happy to explain any questions I threw her way! She was so helpful in teaching me basic camera functions and how to adjust to fit my indoor lighting.
