JOURNAL FAQS

I'm new to food and product photography is this journal right for me?

Absolutely! Composition Feast is a fantastic way to start your food and product photography journey. One of the pitfalls new food photographers encounter is skipping the planning process. They start at what seems to be the "fun part". However, they quickly find out that shooting without a proper plan leads to frustration and disappointment. The fun part of a shoot a fun because the results have been thought out well in advance.  Composition Feast will  help you save time, money, and mental anguish, by providing you a roadmap for your project ideas.

WHAT IF I CAN't DRAW TO SAVE MY LIFE?!

This journal is for your eyes only. If you choose to share that is up to you. By following the steps outlined in the Composition Feast pre-production journal, you will see that even with the most basic shapes you can plan your photo projects with ease.

DO I NEED SPECIAL CAMERA EQUIPMENT TO USE THIS JOURNAL?

NO! Whether you shoot with advanced camera equipment, a small point and shoot, or a smart phone, Composition Feast will work for you. Project planing is about working with what you have to create the result you want. By planning ahead you can see problems and limitations early and create solutions for them. Having advanced camera equipment is powerless here.

I AM A FOOD BLOGGER WITH LIMITED CAMERA KNOWLEDGE. IS THIS BOOK RIGHT FOR ME?

We love Food Bloggers here at Composition Feast. A fantastic side-effect of what you do pre-planning. Our pre-production journal is the perfect accompaniment to what you already do so naturally. Once you create your recipes you can plan your images. Composition Feast gives you an outlet to curate your props, set-ups, and other important details you want to highlight about your dish for both self-guided and brand-guided shoots.

I'M A CHEF. HOW CAN I BENEFIT FROM USING THIS JOURNAL?

Composition Feast is a fantastic tool for Chefs. Chefs are natural planners. You have to be. Things move so quickly in the kitchen and without planning everything goes downhill quickly. While planning your service use Composition Feast to plan your prep, process, plating and finishing shots. Share this journal with your waitstaff during pre-service meeting so they can capture finished dishes as they leave the kitchen.

WHAT SUPPLIES DO I NEED TO GET STARTED?

PENCIL. PEN. ERASER... and maybe a highlighter (if you wanna be fancy)

IS THERE A DIGITAL OPTION FOR THIS JOURNAL?
