Flavorful Asian inspired beef and pork meatballs seasoned with aromatic herbs, ginger, and sesame oil are perfect as a stand-alone dish to serve as an appetizer, over rice, or an excellent accompaniment to my Lemongrass Soup.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
4-5 green onions thinly sliced
1/3 cup chopped cilantro
1 big clove of garlic
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup of Tamari (soy sauce's not so salty cousin)
1 Tbs of sesame oil
1-2 pinches of red pepper flakes (just for a little kick)
1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients well.
The meat should feel very moist if not add a little more Tamari.
Let meat marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hr or overnight.
To cook:
Preheat oven to 400º.
Cover large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Roll meatballs about the size of a ping pong ball and place on a cookie sheet 1 inch apart,
